Thank you for an amazing couple of weeks. A real highlight was the Cultural Showcase and talent show. It was an evening of beautiful entertainment and community atmosphere. Please see some of the photos later in the newsletter in the Our People section. Thank you to everyone who made it such a success. The final tally for all the raffles including the bed is $2406. What a stunning effort St Pius X. These funds go towards supporting our Education outside the classroom (EOTC).
The winning ticket for the beddepot bed package was sold by Luna Grace Yap to Adriana Aguilar. Congratulations to you both.
Well done our winner, pictured here with Jessa Yap Luna's Mum.
Language at School It has come to our attention that a number of students are using inappropriate words and phrases in their home languages here at school. This has been particularly noted in our students that speak Malayalam. We will have ongoing conversations here at school if you could support us at home in reinforcing appropriate language for school, regardless of understanding the meanings. Thanks for your support.
Mufti Mania for Myanmar Earthquake
The Mission Sisters, are asking for assistance to the Myanmar earthquake response. The International Missionary Development Office is handling donations that come to the Mission Sisters, and these will be handed directly to the Sisters in Myanmar.
They will use the support for: medical supplies; oil; rice; dry fish; packet noodles initially. They will also offer solidarity and pastoral care. As you know, this will continue for many years to come, given their political reality.
St Pius X will hold a Mufti Mania Day next week on Tuesday to raise funds for the Mission Sisters. A gold coin donation is all we ask.
Thank you for your Solidarity, and practical participation in RNDM Mission.
If you would like to contribute directly to the effort please see the photo below for bank details of the Mission Sisters.
Inter-school Swimming Years 4-6
We had a team of Saint Pius X learners go to the Years 4-6 inter-school swimming event on Tuesday 25th of March. As always our learners showed impeccable manners and respect and we had some wonderful results on the day.
These learners all made it to a final of the event: Year 4 Pia Leafa- 1 length freestyle and breaststroke Jovana Sijo-Joseph- 1 length backstroke and breaststroke
Thank you for the generous donations that have came in so far this term. Keep up this amazing effort as we enter the last week. The theme for the week is Easter treats. It is that chance to give something a little extra to those in need. It may be an Easter egg or two, but tea, coffee and biscuits are also very appreciated.
Some photo's of the first donation to the Vinnies- we will send our second donation at the end of term
School Uniform
A reminder the School Uniform supplier is The Brand Makers at 6 Latham Court Frankton. You can visit in person or online at www.tbm.co.nz to purchase uniform. We have a very limited selection of uniform here at school and our priority is to ensure we are able to outfit those in need. Our uniform is very reasonably priced in comparison to other schools and most items can be worn year round. If you have any queries please come into the office.
Leaving School Early Please always sign your child out at the office if leaving before the end of the day. This is a Health and Safety issue as we need to know who is on school grounds in case of an emergency.

To the decorators: Your creativity transformed the space into a vibrant and welcoming environment, beautifully reflecting the many cultures and traditions that we celebrated. The atmosphere you helped create made the event truly special.
To the sound and tech crew: Your professionalism ensured that the performances, presentations, and music were heard clearly, bringing every moment to life with perfect sound.
To the performers: Your acts were the heart and soul of the event. Whether through music, dance, or theatre, you shared the beauty of your cultures and traditions with passion and grace, creating an experience that touched everyone.
To everyone who contributed to the raffle: Your generous donations helped make the event even more memorable, and your support was deeply appreciated by all who attended.

The NZTD (travellerdeclaration.govt.nz) is an online system that travellers can use to complete a declaration before they travel into New Zealand. The new digital NZTD was launched in August 2023 and not many people know they can now do it online – replacing the paper card you used to fill out on the plane.
