Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
Tena Koutou Katoa
Kia ora and welcome to our week 8 newsletter. Ngā mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori and Happy Matariki New Year to all. I hope you can get out and enjoy the day with family and friends.
We have had a truly action packed couple of weeks and the last week of term has had a few adventures as well.
Crosscountry
Thank you to the staff, students and community that took part in our cross country last week. It was great to see so much support, and the hard work of the children pay off. We are very proud of the team that represented us at the inter-school Years 4-6 cross country later that week. See our sport section for a range of photos and cross country results.
Interviews and Reports
Thank you also goes to our teachers for the hard work they have put into reports and interviews this week. If you were unable to make it to an interview your report will be sent home with your child.
School Disco
Tuesday 2nd July is the school disco. The Junior disco Years 1-4 will be from 5.00pm-6.15pm at St Lukes. The theme for the junior disco is Bright Colour for a Matariki night. The Senior disco Years 5-8 is from 6.30pm-7.45pm at St Lukes. The Senior theme is Crazy Hair. The student council will be looking to hand out spot prizes for the best theme and dancing on the night.
There is a gold coin donation at the door. The Friends of the School will also be selling sausages, drinks and glow sticks for $1 and $2 dollars so bring gold coins for the night.
Thank you in advance for the hard work of the student council, Friends of the School and teachers who are all working together to make it happen.
School Matariki Celebration
Thursday 4th July will be our schools Matariki celebration. We will be celebrating community together by dressing in our house colours for the day, sharing a whole school Mass with the Parish, participating in house tabloid sports and sitting together in our houses for lunch. Matariki is a uniquely Kiwi holiday and we are excited to build our tradition around this.
