Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton

Welcome to 2025
This is our first newsletter of 2025. Welcome to our extended Whanau, returning families and people new to our community. We have started 2025 with 254 pupils and will continue to grow our roll as the year continues and our building project finishes. I hope everyone has come back from the holiday refreshed and ready for a new year of challenge, opportunity and growth. I look forward to seeing you all tonight Wednesday 12th February for our Meet the Teacher and community picnic.

Building Project and Upgrades
Over the break the school was very active with all buildings getting a clean inside and out and the new building project getting into full swing. You will have noticed that the drive way has been dug and then patched up. Over the break a trench was dug all the way to the road to accommodate new water, wastewater and electric services. This was a big job, and with this came an upgrade to our fuse boxes and electric wires in some of our older spaces. The foundation of the new build has been poured and all structural steel is on site. I will keep you updated on all progress but at the moment the classrooms are on track to be opened in July.
This coming Thursday and Friday will see some disruption to the internet here at school as our connections and routers are upgraded. If you know of an absence for these days please let us know by Wednesday, thank you in advance for your patience as we expect delays in communication while our internet is being upgraded.
For everyone's safety please stay away from the building site. There are many hazards involved in construction and the safety fences are in place for a reason. This includes the weekends and afterschool

Community Update
This year we will have a community whiteboard out on school grounds letting you know about upcoming events. If there is anything you would like added to the board please let us know and make sure to read the whiteboard as you pick up or drop off your child.
Friends of the School
The Friends of the school play a vital role in our community. They support the school in a number of ways including fundraising and community gathering. We are looking for key representatives from across our community to ensure that everyone is involved. We are also looking to establish a 'Dads' of the school group who may be able to help with small handyman tasks and sports coaching and leading. If you would like to be an active member of the Friends of the School or a foundation member of 'Dads' of the school please be in contact with the office and we will pass your details on.

Parking
Our school roll is growing bigger and there is simply not enough parking space at the Church for everyone at 2.45pm. There is however plenty of on street parking in walkable distance to school to pick your child up at the end of the day. If you are physically able, please park on the surrounding streets and walk to school.
Also if you are needing to cross the road please move off the school driveway and to the grass verge to do so. These simple actions will help keep everyone safe and it means we can get away from school on time. If we continue to have problems at pick up times we will have to look for alternative solutions to ensure everyone's safety.
