Wow what a busy week we have had. Swimming starting this week and Years 4-6 outdoor education means that lots of things are happening with people moving to different parts. Thank you everyone for your support in our endeavours and make sure you are getting enough rest in this busy season.
Building Project
The building project for our new classrooms is all go. You might have seen the large trucks coming down the drive and new signage at the front by the letterbox. It is a timely reminder to be safe on the driveway in and out of the school gate. Please use the footpath and be aware of traffic around you, making sure to keep young children safe. Don't drive down the drive unless you have prior permission. It is much safer to park and walk up. The builders are hoping to have the pad down before Christmas. The current anticipated date for the building work to be complete is July 2025. Year 4-6 Outdoor education
This week has seen the Years 4-6 go on a range of experiences for outdoor education. Going to Hamilton Lake (Rotoroa) on Monday to explore the orienteering course. Traveling to the Arapuni Swing bridge and exploring a local dairy farm on Tuesday, followed by an at school sleepover. Wednesday has everyone participating in tabloid sports and gaining points for their camp teams. A huge thank you to the teachers and staff that have participated in this event, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. The children have loved it and what a wonderful experience.
Memorial Tree and Book Thank you to all those that contributed to our memorial book. We will hold the book safe and return it next November (2025). Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Giving Tree Term 4
Thank you to our amazing community for your ongoing contributions to the Giving Tree. It looks amazing. The Tree is in the admin office until the end of the year when all donations will be given to the local Vinnies.
A word from our Young Vinnies leaders. The Vinnies are pleased to say that we have officially started the giving tree (now set up in our foyer).
We have found families in our Melville community who would appreciate our donations and gifts this Christmas. Anything would be greatly appreciated such as clothes, toiletries, food and toys. Please do not wrap the gifts, as we need to be able to see what the presents are if we need to switch it up.

If you know you will be late to pick up your children after school please ring the office to let us know your expected time. All students who have not been picked up by 3pm are expected to wait on the front steps of the Admin building until they are picked up. We have a growing number of students being left past 3pm. A reminder that the school is closed at this time and we can not guarantee that there is someone onsite to supervise children. If there is a regular day that you are unable to make 2.45pm pick up consider booking a space in after school care. twkprogrammes@gmail.com for enquiries.

Just a few reminders for Term 4: Absences - Please let us know via telephone, Spike website or Skoolloop if your child is going to be absent. If we don't hear from you at all, we mark your child as T for Truant. This information is part of our data that goes to the Ministry of Education.
Lost Property - If you have a missing drink bottle, umbrella etc, please check at the office. We gave a lot of these things to opportunity shops last term. All unclaimed clothing was washed and put in with our second hand clothing.
Late to School - Please, please have your child (or yourself) sign them in late. This avoids the need to send you a text asking where your child is.
If you come and take your child from school during the day, please ALWAYS sign them out at the office. Thank you.
