Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
Kia ora koutou
Week 6, Term 4 is here and the rush of summer and Christmas is beginning. Thank you so much for your support last Thursday for the Senior Athletics day. Unfortunately due to the weather the sprints and Junior Athletics day were unable to go ahead. Thank you to all the teachers for your hard work around this.
We also have a large number of events coming up in these final days and weeks of Term. Keep checking Seesaw, Facebook and the calendar to see the latest update of news and events.
Building Project
After a long wait the building site for stage 2 was established this morning. This project will be ongoing until around July 2025. The project will provide a further 2 classroom spaces, toilets and break out learning spaces for the school. The site fences are in place for everyones safety, please do not access the space within this boundary for any reason. There is still safe access for Ruru A and B classrooms from the playground side of the building. If you have any questions and queries please don't hesitate to contact me in the office.

Junior School Outdoor education
This week the junior school have been exploring the world around us with education experiences outside the classroom. I was privileged enough to be part of the Zoo trip on Monday. When we returned to school we were greeted by a lovely email from a member of the public complimenting our learners on their manners and behaviour. Well done St Pius X. Tuesday saw the orchard set up with tents and water fun and outdoor play. Wednesday saw a Christmas celebration in full swing. These educational opportunities allow our learners to explore new situations. The middle and senior outdoor education weeks are coming up.
Memorial Tree and Book
We continue with the month of remembrance (November). As such we have our memorial tree and book in the admin block. You are warmly invited to add names of remembrance to both the wall and book. These names form part of our daily prayer this Month.

Giving Tree Term 4
Here are some of our amazing community members donating to our giving tree this week.
The Vinnies of Melville have asked St Pius X for help with families in our community who may struggle over Christmas. We have set up our giving tree in the Admin block, it will remain until the end of term. The purpose of the giving tree is to collect donated gifts and food for families in our community, to help others celebrate Christmas. Each class has been given some details of a family or person in need of support. Talk with your child's teacher for more details. Alternatively donate what you are able. In the last week of term the donations will be collected and the Vinnies will help it go to people in need in our local community. Thank you to the young Vinnies for helping to set up the tree and Mrs Williams for co-ordinating this event.
After school Pick up
If you know you will be late to pick up your children after school please ring the office to let us know your expected time.
All students who have not been picked up by 3pm are expected to wait on the front steps of the Admin building until they are picked up.
We have a growing number of students being left past 3pm. A reminder that the school is closed at this time and we can not guarantee that there is someone onsite to supervise children.
If there is a regular day that you are unable to make 2.45pm pick up consider booking a space in after school care. twkprogrammes@gmail.com for enquiries.
