Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Greetings to you all on Te wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori language week)
I was privileged to be able to attend the Hamilton JumpJam competition on Saturday at Boys' High. Our teams performed admirably. Our junior team, at their first competition gave it their all and showed great team spirit and enthusiasm for JumpJam. They improved across the terms and are well set up for competition next year after having experienced what the day is all about. Our senior team was amazing, with all their hard work and effort paying off. They achieved 3rd place and a spot in the National competition in November. Well done team for all that you have done. Your hard work paid off and you did St Pius X proud. Thanks also to Miss Burge and Mr Fernandes for all the work they put into the teams to achieve this success.

Building Soon
The next phase of our building project is due to start soon with two new class spaces being constructed along the gully boundary by the old hall. This construction should start within the next couple of months. It is vitally important that the school community follows all directions and instructions around the construction to keep everyone safe. There will be increased traffic around our driveway so now is a good time to investigate alternate pick up and drop off points for your whanau. Dermont is a very close walk, easy to park and the roundabout gives easy access to rejoin the main roads.
Notes on Enrolments for 2025: As you may be aware our school roll is growing and so is our waiting list. We currently have no spaces available this year and no spaces for years 1-5 next year with a waiting list of over 50 students. If you have a younger sibling turning five at the end of this year or the beginning of next year and want them to be at St Pius X please come and see Maree in the office ASAP. Also if you know that you are moving or changing school in the new year, please come and tell us at the office as soon as you are able. It means we can give some certainty to those who are on the waitlist for the new year and to also give your child a proper farewell.
Parking on the Grass
We have had a wet winter and spring and this is demonstrated in the state of the grassed areas around the school and Church. This damage is made worse by cars driving and parking on the grass. Father is spending a lot of time and money to rehab the grass around the circle at the front of the Church. Please don't park there. Ideally the circle should be for quick pick up and drop off at the beginning and end of the day. If you need to park. Please use the Church carpark and the roads around the school such as Dermont street. Thank you for your co-operation in this.
