Another week of Term 3 is almost over. The Olympics learning continues, it is great to see the excitement shared as children explore new countries and sports. There is still time to come and check out the medal tallies in the Admin block for how the games are going for some countries around the world.
The Life Education caravan and Duffy theatre were delayed this week due to illness which is a good reminder that if you are sick stay home and get well. Germs spread quickly in a classroom and we can all do our bit to look out for one another with some simple health measures. Wash your hands with soap and water. Catch your cough in an elbow, sanitise if you need to and stay home if you are unwell. The winter terms are always a time for coughs and colds but by looking out for one another we can stay well together.

We were due to have Duffy theatre on Wednesday. This has been delayed due to illness. Next Wednesday is the 30th Birthday celebration of Duffy. St Pius X has a long association with Duffy books and as a school we will celebrate with Mufti. If you are able come dressed as Duffy. This is a free Mufti day. No gold coin is needed. I can't wait to see how the school dresses up.
Sunday 18th August will be our school Parish Mass to celebrate the Feast of St Pius X, whose Feast day is the 21st August. Mass will start at 9am Sunday morning. All are welcome. Mass will be followed by a shared morning tea in the foyer. Please talk to your children as they may have a job for the Mass such as the Readings of the day or a prayer of the Faithful.
YCC Day and raising money for Caritas
Last week the school got together to raise money for Caritas to support Holy Trinity Catholic school in Papua New Guinea. I am proud to say that all our efforts raised $400. Thank you for everyones contributions.
