Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
Tena Koutou Katoa
Kia ora and welcome to the start of Term 3. It is great to see everyone back from the break and ready for a new term of learning.
We welcome our new children and their Whanau to our Kura. We also welcome our new staff for the term. Please reach out and say hi if you see a new face out in the playground.
LouLou and dogs in school policy
You may also be aware of one of our newer members of staff LouLou. LouLou is a golden retriever collie mix dog who has been adopted by Miss Maree and is currently spending time in the office and playground being socialised. LouLou is growing into a new role of support dog here as St Pius X. When she is older and has more training she may spend time in class or in the library supporting children to engage with learning. There is no EXPECTATION that a child or family have any time with LouLou. If you would like to not have your child interact with her please contact myself principal@stpius.school.nz or Maree at info@stpius.school.nz. The board has a new dogs in school policy that you are more than welcome to read in the office. Thank you.
